Hometown Heroes is coming to Scio NY

Local patriots have organized to honor Scio’s military women and men

Scio Hometown Heroes is a non-profit organization initiating the popular Hometown Heroes Banner Program that has gained national attention. Our committee is made up of local residents.

The Hometown Heroes Program was developed to give individuals an opportunity to honor past and present members of the Armed Forces. Each banner will be double sided, vinyl material and will honor a specific current or former Scio serviceperson and will include his or her name, branch of service, era of service, and photo.

The banners will be displayed on the authorized utility poles granted by National Grid along the streets in Scio. We are anticipating banners to be hung in time for the 2023 Memorial Day celebrations to commemorate the sacrifices made and honor those who have served.

As a non-profit organization, this program will be run only on donations and resources as gifts to veterans and their families we hope to recognize. This initiative is at a primitive stage currently.

E & C Pet Parlor and the Upper Genesee River Ranch are early supporters of the Scio Hometown Heroes project
