Major revitalization effort requires community input
The Village of Andover has appointed a committee consisting of village and town officials, business owners and community members to pursue the NY Forward Main Street revitalization grant opportunity. The Governor announced the new $100 Million NY Forward Program this year, with the intent to “Invigorate and Enliven Smaller and Rural Downtowns”.
This grant could mean big things for our small community and we are working diligently to put our best foot forward in the application process. We are grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with such a supportive group of community stakeholders on the project.
As part of the application process, we are reaching out to community members and local business owners to find out what they love about our downtown and what improvements and additions they would like to see in the Main Street area. In addition, we asking residents to take a few moments to fill out a community assessment survey. The responses received will serve as a basis for what will be included in our final application, and will also be a valuable tool as we explore future grant opportunities. A paper version of this survey will also be available.

We will be holding a public information and idea sharing session on September 1st at 7pm and the Village Office. We encourage all community members to attend.
We thank you in advance for your support.
