An arrest from a July 22 bank robbery that occurred at the NBT Bank of Baldwinsville was made on Wednesday by the New York State Police with help from other agencies.
The man who was arrested was out on parole from another robbery.
Troopers said on July 22 at 4:15 pm, a white male wearing a blue surgical mask, baseball cap, and a grey camouflage zipped jacket walked into the bank and handed a note to the teller demanding money. No weapon was displayed. He was scene leaving on foot.
Troopers said on Wednesday, a Cicero Police Officer located Bell’s vehicle, which was wanted in connection with two bank robberies in the area, at a park in Brewerton.
Trooper said Bell fled in his vehicle and a traffic pursuit started on Interstate 81. The suspect went on to Route 31, then two other side streets when an Onondaga County Sheriff Deputy deployed stop sticks at the intersection of Verplank Road and Caughdenoy Road which disabled his vehicle.
Troopers charged Andrew J. Bell, 32, of Liverpool with felony third-degree robbery of the NBT bank, second-degree felony assault, third-degree unlawful fleeing of a police officer, second-degree reckless endangerment and several vehicle and traffic violations.
As you can see on the video, Bell stopped his vehicle near the intersection of Caughdenoy and Mudd Mill Road where he was taken into custody without incident.
Bell was transported to the Onondaga County Justice Center to await centralized arraignment.
Trooper said Bell was out of jail on parole for a previous first-degree robbery charge from 2015..
Troopers thanked the following departments for assistance: Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office (including AIR 1), Cicero Police Department, North Syracuse Police Department, Oswego County Sheriff’s Office and NYS Parole.
During the original investigation, troopers were assisted at the scene by the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office and State Police in Lysander.
