The young bald eagle found in the grass on Old State Road in Amity on Wednesday, July 27 is still hanging on for life.

The eagle did not have use of his legs, but the wings worked and it was unknown how long he was in the tall grass.

The SPCA Serving Allegany County contacted Cheri Dobmeier at Abbe-Freeland Wildlife Sanctuary and they loaded the eagle up and took it to Cornell University Animal Hospital.

The eagle is still hanging on, but more tests are scheduled, SPCA officials said.
