WPD nabs sex offender with open warrant
All those arrested are considered innocent until proven guilty in court

Wellsville Police arrested a male, age 48 of Belmont, charging him with Harassment 2nd. The charge stems from an incident that took place on Jefferson Street in March. He was located by the Bolivar Police Department and taken into custody. The accused was processed and arraigned before Wellsville Village Justice Thompson. He was released and is due back in Wellsville Village Court on July 19th at 4:30 pm.

Wellsville Police arrested John C. Keating, age 39 of Wellsville, charging him with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th. The charge stems from an incident that took place on Nelson Avenue in the Village. Keating was also arrested on an Arrest Warrant for a Sex Offender Registry Violation (Class D Felony). Keating was processed and arraigned before Wellsville Village Justice Thompson. Keating was committed to the Allegany County Jail without bail. Keating is due back in Wellsville Village Court on July 19th at 4:30 pm.

Wellsville Police arrested a male, age 53 of Allegany, charging him with Criminal Trespass 2nd, Criminal Mischief 4th, Criminal Contempt 2nd and Harassment 2nd. The charges stem from an incident that took place on Grover Street in November of 2021. He was located by Wellsville Police on Loder Street and taken into custody. The accused was processed and arraigned before Wellsville Village Justice Thompson. The man was released and is due back in Wellsville Village Court on August 2nd at 4:30 pm.

Wellsville Police arrested a male, age 31 of Wellsville, charging him with Criminal Mischief 4th, Criminal Obstruction of Breathing and Harassment 2nd. The charges stem from an incident that took place on Pine Street in the Village. He was processed, and arraigned before Wellsville Village Justice Thompson. The accused was released and is due back in Wellsville Village Court on August 16th at 4:30 pm.

Wellsville Police arrested a female, age 44 of Wellsville, charging her with a Violation of Probation. She was processed and committed to the Allegany County Jail. The accused is due to be arraigned in Allegany County Court at a later date.

Wellsville Police arrested a male, age 23 of Ceres, charging him with Petit Larceny. The charge stems from an incident that took place at Tractor Supply. He was processed, issued an appearance ticket and released. The accused is due to appear in Wellsville Village Court on August 9th at 4:30 pm.
