Updates from First assistant district attorney Ian M. Jones

Defendant’s Name:  Aaron P. Jeffords

Address:  Belmont, New York        

Charges:  Violation of Probation

Court Appearance Date:  July 6, 2022

Proceedings:  Aaron Jeffords was in Allegany County Court facing allegations that he violated his probation conditions.  ADA Ian Jones argued that Mr. Jeffords should be sentenced to 1 year in the Allegany County Jail for the violation and the Court did sentence the defendant to 1 year of incarceration.

Defendant’s Name:  Jacob R. Sanford

Address:  Belmont, New York        

Charges:      Making a Terroristic Threat (D felony);
Driving While Intoxicated (misdemeanor).              

Court Appearance Date:  July 6, 2022

Proceedings:  Following a prior grand jury indictment, Jacob R. Sanford was before the County Court for arraignment on 2 charges, including a top charge of Making a Terroristic Threat.  Further proceedings in this matter were scheduled for August 24, 2022.

Defendant’s Name:  Jeremy A. Ward

Address:  Belmont, New York        

Charges:  Violation of Probation

Court Appearance Date:  July 6, 2022

Proceedings:  Jeremy Ward was in County Court for allegations that he violated his probation conditions.  The People stated they were seeking a state prison sentence and requested a hearing.  The matter was scheduled for further proceedings for August 10, 2022.

Defendant’s Name:  Aweys A. Hussein

Address:  Amity, New York        

Charges:  Assault in the 2nd degree (a class D felony)

Court Appearance Date:  July 6, 2022

Proceedings:  Aweys A. Hussein was in County Court for arraignment of a prior indictment by a grand jury for Assault in the 2nd degree, a class D felony.  It is alleged that Mr. Hussein assaulted an inmate within the Allegany County Jail, causing injury.
