Veteran Services Director Michael Hennessy says that all markers to be replaced, at no cost to families
“In reference to the recent vandalism of the Veterans’ memorial marker at the Sacred Heart Cemetery on South Main Street in Wellsville, the Allegany County Veterans’ Service Agency conducted a review, completed all necessary paperwork, and forwarded that documentation to the proper agencies so the markers can be replaced. The markers will be reissued and mounted at no cost to the Veterans’ families. Allegany County Administrator Carissa Knapp has been briefed and is monitoring the situation.”
