Democratic Caucuses for March Village Elections

Allegany County caucuses start Tuesday January 23

From the Allegany County Democratic Committee,

Belmont, NY —  Seven villages in Allegany County elect new members to their governmental boards in March. This year, these elections will take place on Tues., March 19th.

Six of the seven hold caucuses – brief nominating meetings – to put forward the names of their chosen candidates.  The seventh has a different procedure.

Caucuses work because village voters convene to put forward, discuss, and nominate candidates together.  The schedule of Democratic caucuses is as follows:

Village of Alfred          Tue., Jan 23rd    6:30 p.m.       Village Hall

Village of Belmont      Fri.,  Jan 29th     6:30 p.m.       Village Hall

Village of Bolivar        Thu., Jan 25th    6:30 p.m.       Town Hall

Village of Canaseraga Tue., Jan 23rd    6:00 p.m.       Village Fire Hall

Village of Cuba           Wed., Jan 24th  6:45 p.m.        Cuba Municipal Bldg.
