Expect delays on State Rt. 305, State Rt. 417, and State Rt. 275

Michael T. Baldwin Reports

The New York State Department of Transportation is advising motorists of paving activities over the coming weeks along state roads in multiple Allegany County communities. They are as follows:

Starting Monday, June 6, approximately thirteen miles of pavement along State Route 305 in the Towns of Belfast, New Hudson, and Cuba will be repaired. Traffic will be maintained during the hours of 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. using alternating single-lane closures and on-site flagging personnel. Work is expected to be completed by the end of June.

Starting Monday, June 6, approximately four miles of pavement along State Route 417 between County Route 9 and Fassett Lane in the Town of Wellsville will be repaired. Traffic will be maintained during the hours of 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. using alternating single-lane closures and on-site flagging personnel. Work is expected to take five days.

Starting Wednesday, July 6, approximately eight miles of pavement along State Route 275 between the Towns of Friendship and Wirt will be repaired. Traffic will be maintained during the hours of 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. using alternating single-lane closures and on-site flagging personnel. Work is anticipated to be complete by the end of July.

Construction activities are weather dependent and subject to change based on conditions. Motorists may experience delays during this time and are advised to seek an alternate route. No detours will be posted as part of the construction.

Motorists are urged to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
