District Superintendent announces forum this Sunday, May 22

BRCS officials released this statement today:

Parents/ Guardians & Student Athletes Football Meeting Bolivar-Richburg Central School District

Sunday, May 22, 2022 (4:00pm – 5:30pm) Jr./Sr. High Auditorium

May 17, 2022

Dear Parents/Guardians & Student Athletes,

The Bolivar-Richburg Central School District would like to invite you to an open discussion forum about the up-coming Fall 2022 “Football Season”. The forum will be held on Sunday, May 22, 2022 from 4:00pm – 5:30pm, in the Jr./Sr. High auditorium.

Bolivar-Richburg has a strong tradition of football and success on the competition field. As a program, our top priority is to field teams that keep our students safe, while remaining competitive within our division. It is our hope to continue this tradition for many years to come, but with the slow drop in annual enrollment numbers we would like to hear from you regarding what the program would look like moving forward.

Options:

  1. “Continue playing 11-person football, made up of Bolivar-Richburg students only”;
  2. “Play 8-person football, made-up of Bolivar-Richburg students only”;
  3. “Look at merging teams/players with a neighboring school to play 11-person football”.

As of this letter, I can assure you that no decisions have been made, and that this forum is to help guide us moving forward with the program. We are sorry for the late notice, but hope that you can take a couple hours out of your weekend to help us guide the future of this great sport.

Respectfully,

Mr. Michael A. Retzlaff

Superintendent of Schools

Bolivar-Richburg Central School District
