Regular programming resumed on April 6

By Doris MacFarquhar

The Monday Club of Wellsville resumed their spring meeting schedule with luncheon at the Wellsville Country Club on April 6.

The following Monday, at the David A. Howe Library, the program featured local Realtor, Vicki Middaugh. She described her entry into the profession, years of experience, and the current climate of the local real estate market. One of the most significant changes has been evolution from “in person” showing to buyers, to “on line” presentation of homes and properties to buyers in more distant locations. Some may be out of the state or country, but are able to visit web sites to view offerings. The current demand is great, and there are not a lot of properties available.

On April 18, club members were up and dancing, as Pat LaCourse and four Line Dancing friends demonstrated their skills and moves. Pat showed a few basic steps, walked members slowly through the moves, and then added music. Lots of energy and laughter followed, and after a few tries, many danced through several different routines. It’s great exercise, fun, and the Line Dancers enjoy their social time together and would welcome anyone interested in joining their group. In Wellsville, they meet each Thursday at 7 P.M. at the VFW. For more information, phone 585-268-5111. Teresa LaGro, one of the dancers, lives in Alfred, where there is also a Line Dancing group.

Members are looking forward to three more community presentations, as well as a book review, and the Allegany County Federation Meeting on May 12.
