Health Department asks residents to use Covid testing for a safe holiday

Travel for Spring breaks, Easter, and Passover holidays are upon us, and the Allegany County Department of Health would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone to take precautions to protect themselves and loved ones against COVID-19.

Stay healthy and stay safe by testing before and after gathering with family and friends, and practice good hand washing. If you plan to gather in large numbers or travel to areas with high COVID-19 rates, please consider wearing a mask and testing upon return. In addition, ACDOH reminds you to complete your primary COVID-19 vaccine series, get boosted when eligible, and contact your healthcare provider to discuss eligibility for treatment options if you have tested positive. The Allegany County Department of Health is now providing the 2nd booster dose at upcoming clinics in May. The COVID-19 vaccine clinics will be held every Tuesday in May, from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m., at the County Office Building in Belmont.

To view all upcoming clinics and to register for your appointment, please visit: https://www.alleganyco.gov/coronavirus/covid-19-vaccine-information/.

You can also call the Allegany County Department of Health at (585) 268-9250 for more information or for assistance in registering.
