A Wellsville family is recovering from injuries, trauma, and loss after the Pine Street fire destroyed their home and took the life of Thomas Allen. Kay(who narrowly survived the fire) and her family have been receiving an outpouring of support from the community. The Trinity Lutheran Church is planning a BBQ fundraiser and The Shepard of the Valley Church is accepting donations to benefit the Allen family.

This morning, a new gofundme page was announced for direct donations to the family. Stephen Vossler, part of a large family who seems to always be ready to help, announced his effort with some background on his connections to the Allen family:

“My Name is Stephen Vossler. I am starting this fundraiser to help raise money for Kay Allen in the aftermath of a devastating house fire that tragically took the life of her husband, Tom, as well as her entire home and all earthly possessions. As a Boy, I was best friends with Tom & Kay’s son Zachary, who also tragically lost his life in a terrible industrial accident over two decades ago. Zach Allen was a great friend and a positive childhood influence who has been greatly missed. As life-long members of Trinity Lutheran then Shepard of the Valley Church, the Allen’s have always been part of my church family, making this tragedy feel even closer to home. Please keep Kay and her family in your daily prayers and take advantage of this opportunity to donate any amount you can to help Her through these challenging times. All funds raised here will go directly to Kay Allen. Thank you, and God Bless.”
