It’s been an incredible turnaround for the girls’ volleyball program at Bolivar-Richburg, and a lot of that had to do with the off-season work put in by senior Jianna Scott.

At one time, teams circled B-R as a win. Not anymore. Scott led the Wolverines to a 14-6 record and earned league MVP honors.

Now, she has signed a national letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic career playing volleyball at Division II power Shepherd University in West Virginia.

Shepherd University is one of the top programs in the nation. The team went 24-5 last season and 12-2 in conference play.

B-R coach Demi Elliott told Wellsville Sports when the season ended, “We have always been just the little town of Bolivar, but I thank this group for finally making Bolivar known and on the map when it comes to volleyball. Jianna Scott will be furthering her career by playing on a number one travel team out of Rochester, and has set school records with her stats this season.”

Scott signed the letter of intent with her coach and her parents, Mike and Lisa Scott.
