A home at 473 Park Street in Whitesville was damaged by fire early Sunday. The first chief on scene declared it a “working fire.” Departments from all across southern Allegany County, Potter County, PA and Steuben County provided assistance. Numerous tankers were called in to haul water to the scene. Fire crews battled the flames for several hours. A fire investigation team was dispatched and the cause remains under review.

Based on reports from the community, no one was injured but the home was a total loss.

The Whitesville Girl Scout Troops are collecting donations for a local Whitesville Family that lost everything this morning in a fire. Be on the lookout for a needs list. They do have cats and dogs as well.

Monetary donations or gift cards are welcome as well.

Monetary donations can be sent via Venmo directly to the family @bre_sizzle
