Allegany County Schools Music Association Honors Festivals planned for March 2022

Students studying and performing music in Allegany County are preparing for two big events next month. The first musical festival will be held on March 4th and 5th in Fillmore, featuring the Junior High Band, Jazz Band, and Senior High Choir. On March 18th and 19th in Wellsville the 6th Grade Choir, Junior High Choir, and the Senior High Band will perform. Both festivals of music are two days with two shows each day!!

In preparation for the events, the ACSMA held a t-shirt design contest. According to legendary Whitesville Central School teacher(now retired,) and volunteer Joanne Brown, the submissions were so great it was impossible to choose just one. So, as artists do, they used their favorite three designs and worked with a graphic design artist to create an amalgamation of all three images, seen above. Brown explains:

“…we had a lot of submissions and couldn’t decide on just one so we worked with a graphic artist and combined 3 students designs together – how awesome is that!!”

The three students who worked with Studio 4 in Allegany NY who deserve some serious credit:

Sax design = Noah Barnes 7th grade CRCS

Profile with notes out of head design = Alexander Linn 7th grade CRCS

ACSMA Lettering = Evan McDowell 12th Grade WLSV

Love the design?? You can purchase the T-shirt anytime until February 16th so follow this QR code or click on the poster to visit the sale site.

Stay tuned for more information from the Wellsville Sun on these two festivals, and student artists and musicians in general!!
