Allegany Co. Democrats “Serving our Community” on National Day of Service

Belmont, NY — For Martin Luther King Jr. National Day of Service, and in honor of animal welfare advocate Betty White, the Allegany County Democratic Committee organized a collection drive for the SPCA Serving Allegany County.

Kathie Stedina, lead coordinator for this project, said, “Dr. King’s life exemplified what it means to serve.  Since we, as Democrats, also strive to serve our communities, we chose to honor his legacy with this project.  It is a privilege to offer our assistance the hard working, caring staff and volunteers of the Allegany County SPCA.”

The call for donations went out to ACDC’s volunteer network. Dozens of supporters contributed to the project.  Lynda Pruski, Executive Director for the SPCA, welcomed the volunteers and thanked them for their generosity. The results can be seen in these photos.

The Allegany County Democratic Committee is the official governing body for the County Party, working toward broader representation by Democrats at the local, state, and national levels.  Learn more at www.alleganycountydemocrats.org or on Facebook, email info@alleganycountydemocrats.org, or phone / text (585) 610-4321.
