The latest state rankings are out in New York State for boys and girls’ basketball.

The Fillmore girls, (listed at 13-0 when rankings were filed), are the No. 1 ranked team by the New York State Sportswriters Association in Class D.

Andover-Whitesville at 9-2 is ranked 18th and they have a home game tonight where junior Vanessa Hall has a chance to become the all-time leading score for Whitesville, passing Stephanie Ellison.

In the loaded Class B, Wellsville has broken into the Top 25 rankings at 11-2 as the Lions are at 19. Waterloo, another Section V foe, is 12-0 at No. 2. Livonia is 22 at 11-3. Wellsville takes on Bath tonight, a team that beat the Lions and just lost a close game to Livonia.

On the boys side, Avoca-Prattsburgh remains No. 1 at 13-0 in Class D and Fillmore is an honorable mention at 8-3. The Scio-Friendship boys should start getting some state recognition as well.

Bolivar-Richburg is an honorable mention in Class C, where Section V’s Lyons is No. 2 at 12-0.
