Town of Wellsville announces 2022 organizational meeting

Share:

Town Clerk Danielle Osgood sent this public notice to media sources that the town will hold its first meeting of 2022. The first meeting of the calendar year includes swearing in of elected officials, appointments, and other normal business before the board.

The Town of Wellsville board has one vacancy still after board member William Fish resigned in mid-September 2021. The same remaining members, Supervisor Shad Alsworth, Deputy Supervisor Patricia Graves, board member Michael Miller, and board member Jesse Case currently hold town board seats. An open application process has been ongoing to fill the vacant position and reportedly many applicants have come forward for consideration.

Of interest will be the new appointments, both those made by Supervisor Alsworth unilaterally, and those made which require full board approval. Those appointments will decide the members of important committees like the airport, planning board, ethics committee, and various “ad-hoc” committees. “Ad-hoc” committees, are not bound by public meeting laws and meet “when necessary.”
