(Wellsville) – A man faces felony and lesser counts after he allegedly torched a room at the Best Inn, 3186 Andover Road in Wellsville. Taken into custody was Brandon L. Short, 34 of Wellsville. The Wellsville Fire Department responded to the scene Monday night at 8 p.m.
Chief Kevin Fleischman reported moderate smoke coming from the room. State Police charged Short with second-degree arson with people present in the room, a B-level felony offense.
He was also charged with misdemeanor criminal mischief. Arraigned in Wellsville court, he was remanded to the Allegany County Jail.
