Bills Fall To Titans In Monday Night Heartbreaker

A week ago the Bills were reveling in a dominate victory over the Chiefs on Sunday Night Football. This week the Bills are lamenting missed opportunities after a heartbreaking loss to the Titans on Monday Night Football. The loss could prove disastrous for the team’s bid to claim the top seed in the AFC.

Against the Chiefs, Buffalo’s defense stymied the Patrick Mahomes led offense for much of the game. Versus the Titans the team’s defense was consistently gashed for big plays and had no answers for running back Derek Henry. The defense kept quarterback Ryan Tannehill mostly in check, but surrendered 143-yards and 3-touchdowns to Henry.

The Bills offense played well, especially in the passing game with quarterback Josh Allen throwing for 353-yards and 3-touchdowns. However, Allen missed wide open receivers in the end zone twice while escaping the pocket. The most scrutinized moment of the contest was when the Bills failed to gain the first down at the goal line in the waning seconds.

Coach Sean McDermott showed a lot of faith in Josh Allen by going for the win instead of playing for overtime. The loss to the Titans was tough, but the season is a marathon not a sprint. The Bills are idle this week, but host the Dolphins on Halloween.

Sabres On A Roll

Don’t look now but the Sabres have started the season 3-0 after their most recent win over Vancouver. The team is getting solid goal tending and scoring goals on a consistent basis. Maybe cutting some of the deadweight and playing the young guys is the formula for success the Sabres have been trying to find for years now.
