DOCUMENT PRESERVATION ROOM IS DEDICATED AT THE ALLEGANY COUNTY HISTORY CENTER

Document preservation is one of the primary goals of historical societies and museums. With this in mind, the Allegany County Historical Society has strived to establish a space where environmental conditions are optimal for the preservation of papers, books, photographs and other items of historical interest.

Now this dream has become a reality. On Saturday, September 4, 2021, supporters of local history gathered for the dedication of the “Arthur & Dorothy Root Paquette Historic Documents Preservation Room” at the Allegany County History Center in Andover, N.Y., named in memory of the parents of Patti Paquette, Dr. Robert Paquette, and Dr. William A. Paquette. Together with the dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony, William Paquette introduced his new book, “Abel Root, Sr., of Bolivar, New York and His Descendants”
