Elmira City Police Injured in High Speed Chase, Gunfire. Hochul Orders All Flags At Half-Staff, Rochester Area Hospitals React to Covid Data.

A chaotic scene in nearby Elmira NY late this morning unfolded where NYS Trooper was injured and reports indicate a high speed chase and multiple shots fired. One eyewitness reported a fatality but that hasn’t been confirmed.

The suspect is in custody.

Rochester area hospitals are re-implementing restrictions on visitors due to the growing number of Covid related hospitalizations. These restrictions had been lifted in February of 2021, after the long surge in late 2020.
