Wellsville Village Police Reports:
Thursday August 12, 2021 Wellsville Police arrested a 19 year old from of Friendship, charging him with Menacing 2nd and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th. The charges stem from an incident that took place on North Main Street in the Village. He was processed, issued an appearance ticket and released. He is due to appear in Wellsville Village Court on September 21st at 4:30 pm.
Friday August 13, 2021 Wellsville Police, acting on a Bench Warrant issued by the Wellsville Village Court, arrested a 30 year old from female from Andover, for failure to appear in Court on a previous Criminal Contempt 2nd charge. She was also charged with Burglary 2nd (Class C Felony). The charge stems from an incident that took place on Scott Avenue in the Village of Wellsville on July 30th. She was processed and arraigned before Wellsville Village Justice Thompson. She was committed to the Allegany County Jail on $5,000.00 cash bail or $10,000.00 property bond. She is due back in Wellsville Village Court on August 17th for further Court action.
Saturday August 14, 2021 Wellsville Police arrested a Wellsville man, charging him with Issuing a Bad Check. The charge stems from a complaint made by the Giant Food Mart in Wellsville. He was processed, issued an appearance ticket and released. He is due to appear in Wellsville Village Court on September 21st at 4:30 pm.
Sunday August 15, 2021 Wellsville Police arrested a 34 year old West Seneca man, charging him with DWI, DWI w/BAC of .08% or more and No/Inadequate Lights. The charges stem from a traffic stop on South Main Street in the Village. He was processed, issued an appearance ticket and released to a third party. He is due to appear in Wellsville Village Court on September 14th at 4:30 pm.
Sunday August 15, 2021 Wellsville Police, acting on a Bench Warrant issued by the Wellsville Village Court, arrested a 39 year old man from Friendship, for failure to appear in Court on a previous AUO 2nd and other V&T charges. He was processed and arraigned before Wellsville Village Justice Thompson. He was released and is due back in Wellsville Village Court on September 21st at 4:30 pm.

Domestic Incident leads to DWAI Arrest for Mayville woman:
On August 14, 2021 at approximately 11:30pm, Troopers out of SP Fredonia arrested a 34 year old woman, of Mayville for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs.
Troopers responded to a 911 call about a verbal domestic dispute between a male and female in the Tops parking lot on Vineyard Drive in the town of Dunkirk. When Troopers arrived on scene, they observed a vehicle speed off onto Vineyard Drive. The vehicle was stopped and the operator was identified as she.
During the investigation with her, she confirmed that she was involved in the domestic dispute. Troopers also noted obvious signs of impairment and failure of standardized field sobriety tests at the scene.
She was placed into custody and transported to Brooks Memorial Hospital where she consented to a blood draw after being interviewed by a Drug Recognition Expert. She was processed at SP Fredonia before being released on an appearance ticket.
Trespass complaint leads to felony charge for Dunkirk man
On August 13, 2021 at approximately 02:18am, Troopers out of SP Fredonia arrested a 34 year-old man, of Dunkirk for Criminal Mischief 3rd, Driving While Intoxicated, two counts of Aggravated Harassment, Harassment and Trespass.
Troopers responded to a trespass complaint in the town of Pomfret. Caller stated a man was hiding behind a tree in the front yard of the residence. When Troopers arrived on scene, they observed his vehicle parked down the road but the suspect, however, was no longer on scene. The caller stated he was underneath a vehicle parked in the driveway of the residence when Troopers showed up with spotlights on.
A search of the surrounding area would eventually lead Troopers to locate him and place him into custody. Further investigation alleges that he tampered with the brake lines of the vehicle that was parked in the driveway and admitted to driving while intoxicated. The complainants also reported to Troopers that they received numerous unwanted text messages and phone calls from him during the previous 12 hours.
He was transported to SP Fredonia where he was processed and ultimately charged with Criminal Mischief 3rd, Driving While Intoxicated, two counts of Aggravated Harassment, Harassment and Trespass. He was then taken to Chautauqua County Jail for arraignment.
Buffalo man arrested for DWI
On August 15, 2021, Troopers out of SP Clarence arrested a 46 year old, of Buffalo, NY, for Driving While Intoxicated.
During a traffic stop on Broadway Road in the town of Lancaster, He was exhibiting signs of impairment. Troopers determined he had been operating a vehicle while in an impaired condition. He had failed standardized field sobriety tests. He was arrested, transported and processed at SP Clarence, where he refused to submit a chemical test. He was released with appearance tickets for the town of Lancaster court, where he is due to appear at a later date.
Elmira woman arrested for DWI
On August 15, 2021, Troopers out of SP Clarence arrested a 48 year old female of Elmira, NY, for Driving While Intoxicated.
Troopers responded to a motor vehicle accident at Six Flags Darien Lake, in the town of Darien. During the interview with operator , she was exhibiting signs of intoxication. Troopers determined she had been operating a vehicle while in an impaired condition. She had failed standardized field sobriety tests. She was arrested, transported and processed at SP Batavia, where a chemical breath test revealed a 0.09% BAC. She was released with appearance tickets for the town of Darien court, where she is due to appear at a later date.
Buffalo woman arrested for Aggravated DWI
On August 15, 2021, Troopers out of SP Elma arrested a 43 year old woman, of Buffalo, NY, for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated.
During a traffic stop on Southwestern Blvd in the town of West Seneca, she was exhibiting signs of impairment. Troopers determined she had been operating a vehicle while in an impaired condition. The woman had failed standardized field sobriety tests. She was arrested and transported to SP Elma, where a chemical breath test revealed a 0.18% BAC. She was released with appearance tickets for the town of West Seneca court, where she is due to appear at a later date.
*All those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. We do not publish the names of the now defendants as a standard rule because of this. Sorry for the lack of commentary or comedy, its just not in the air today so why force it?
NYSP Wall of Honor – Today we remember Trooper John J. McKenna IV Trooper McKenna, 30, was killed by enemy sniper fire outside the Iraqi city of Fallujah on August 16, 2006. Trooper McKenna was serving as a Captain in the United States Marine Corps as Platoon Commander of Company B, 1st Battalion, 25th Marines.
Trooper McKenna entered State Police service on February 14, 2005 and was assigned to Troop F, SP Kingston, at the time of his recall to military duty. He had served 18-months with the Division of State Police and previously served on active duty in Afghanistan and Iraq with the Marine Corps from June 1998 to August 2003.
