Republican Candidate for NY Governor, Lee Zeldin, Makes Strong Statement on Cuomo

NEW YORK – Congressman Lee Zeldin (R, NY-1), who has been named the presumptive nominee for Governor of New York by both the New York Republican and Conservative Parties, issued the following statement after Governor Andrew Cuomo and his legal team continued attacking his victims and investigators:

“Only a sociopath and serial predator like Governor Andrew Cuomo would actually think he could get away with this. His continued attempts to undermine his victims, this investigation and those carrying it out are disgusting and further render him unfit to serve as Governor of New York.

“New York needs a leader to restore our state to glory, rather than lurch from scandal to scandal, neglecting the duties of his office and his responsibilities to his constituents. New Yorkers need a Governor who will put their priorities first, not prioritize self-preservation in the face of endless misconduct. This is a crisis of leadership, and it’s up to every New Yorker to hold Cuomo accountable and Save Our State.

“Instead of continuing to hurt his victims and the New Yorkers he’s supposed to serve, Andrew Cuomo should take what little is left of his dignity and resign immediately. Being that he is clearly set on not resigning, the legislature must impeach and remove him. Crimes must result in charges and prosecution. If the Assembly doesn’t impeach him, New Yorkers will hold him and everyone who has enabled him responsible at the ballot box in 2022.”
