Do You Know About the Allegany County Blind Association?

Share:

The Allegany County Blind Association is located at 26 Jefferson Street in Wellsville.  The office is open Tuesday-Friday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.  If you have low vision or know someone who is having visual problems, stop by or give our office a call (585-593-2023) to learn about all the services that are available.

We have a variety of aids and appliances including handheld magnifiers, talking watches, and a variety of electronic magnifiers to help our low vision clients with activities of daily living (ADL’s). Large print books and the NYS Talking Book Library are also available for avid readers!

Our staff will be happy to help you find the services, aids, and appliances that can fit your needs. In addition, Dr. John Rundquist, a Low Vision Specialist from Buffalo, has a Low Vision clinic at our office on the first Monday of each month. Contact us regarding an appointment. Any NYS resident who is legally blind may be eligible for services provided by the NYS Commission for the Blind. Those with low vision can receive help from this agency and Dr. Rundquist will recommend what is appropriate.

We provide information and referrals by networking with other agencies in Allegany County and can help to find the right Agency for your specific needs.  Please stop in and see us!
