The Oilman’s Mercantile will be a specialty grocery store focusing on local products, Maple Syrup, Honey and honeycomb, beeswax, cheese curd, etc.
Owner Jessie Davison explains how the business idea formed:
“My son was diagnosed with Celiac’s and my husband and I realized we weren’t the only ones in the area that needed more options without having to order online or drive an hour away. So we are also offering a variety of allergy free and gluten free snack options. “
The new store is located inside the Pioneer Oil Museum on Main Street. Davison saw an opportunity to partner with the museum:
“The purpose of teaming up with the museum was to help increase the museum hours and make people aware of everything the Pioneer Oil Museum has to offer. My husband and I both are from Bolivar and are raising our children here and want to help bring Bolivar back to life.”
