David W. Walsh, 84, Scio

David W. Walsh, 84, of 5696 Hog Brook Hill Road, passed away on Sunday, April 25, 2021 in his home surrounded by family, following a long battle with cancer. He was born in Wellsville, on March 27, 1937 the son of the late Walter G. and Jennie A. (Hoyer) Walsh. On June 14, 1958 he married his loving wife of sixty-two years, Sandra E. Moreland – who survives. 

Dave was a graduate of Scio Central School, and continued his education at the State University of New York at Brockport. He was employed at Dresser-Rand Corporation in Wellsville for thirty-five years, retiring in 1998. He was a member of the Scio Central School, Board of Education, and St. Joseph's Catholic Church. 

He was an avid outdoors-man. He also enjoyed bowling, golfing, fishing, and especially hunting. One of his greatest joys was hunting with his grandsons Derek and Matt. Dave never missed any of his granddaughter Lacey's Go-Kart races. He loved his grandchildren so very much. 

He is survived, in addition to his wife Sandra, by: two sons, David C. (Melissa) Walsh, and G. Scott (Theresa) Walsh; a daughter, Jenae (Chris Shuttleworth) Austin; nine grandchildren, Jessica K. Walsh, Joshua D. Walsh, Heather A. Gaynor, Jermey C. Walsh, Katie J. Baldwin, Roy W. Astin, Derek M. Austin, Matthew D. Austin, and Lacey C. Shuttleworth; six great-grandchildren, Logan, Kenzell, Eleanor, Braddock, Quinton, and Griffin; a sister, Diana (Jerry) Hillard of Scio; a sister-in-law, Adele Walsh of Wellsville; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Dave was predeceased by: two brothers, John C. Walsh and James G. Walsh.
