John W. HOAGLAND, 79, of Belmont, NY, died Saturday, February 20, 2021 in Highland Park Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, Wellsville.  

Born September 4, 1941, in Wellsville, he was the son of Glenn and Bernice Dickerson Hoagland.  On April 4, 1982, in Belmont, he married the former JoAnne L. Cole, who survives.  A 1959 graduate of Wellsville Central School, he continued his education at a construction operator’s school in Ohio.  John joined the U.S. Army, honorably discharged in 1970.  He owned and operated J.W. Hoagland Contractor.  John was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Wellsville and McEwen Hose Co. of Wellsville. 

Surviving besides his wife, JoAnne, are:  two daughters, Crystal (Joseph) Wiech of Greeneville, TN and Stephanie (Kirby) Pierce of Cuba;  five grandchildren, Kody Pierce, Kelsey Collver, Kadin Pierce, Gabrielle Wiech, and Zachary Wiech;  and a great-grandson, Rayland Pierce.  He was predeceased by his parents.  

Friends may call at Olney-Foust Funeral Homes & Cremation, Crowell Chapel, 296 North Main Street, Wellsville, NY on Saturday, February 27, 2021 from 11:00 AM – 12:00 Noon, with funeral services following at 12:00 Noon.  CDC and NYS Department of Health guidelines apply.  The Rev. David K. Ford will officiate.  Friends are invited to watch the service by livestream at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, February 27, 2021 at the bottom of John’s obituary page at www.wellsvillefuneralhome.com.  Burial will be held in Until the Day Dawn Cemetery, Angelica.
