Meet the owner of the iconic Pink House and director of “Ghost Lake”

Grace United Church is pleased to announce that in the spirit of Halloween, Jay Woelfel, Horror Film Director will present at Tuesdays with Grace. Jay has spent his career working in all phases of production and post production in film, video, and interactive productions. His first feature film was Beyond Dream’s Door which was made in 1988 and released in 1989. It has been released twice since then. It is currently available through Vinegar Syndrome on blu ray . It is streaming in many other places, including Amazon Prime.

Some may remember when the movie, Ghost Lake, was filmed at Rushford Lake. Jay was the director for that film. Some area residents were in the film. This film is available on Prime and Tubi.
Jay won the Interactive Academy Award for Best Documentary for TITANIC, a project he wrote and directed which was narrated by Patrick Stewart. He has won other awards, as well.
Jay’s great-grandfather, EB Hall, built the Wellsville Pink House. He purchased it from his mother’s estate when she died. Jay shot the short film , Come to me there Softly, in 1988 at the Pink House.
Jay will present on writing and directing horror films. He will also be available to answer questions about the Pink House which is one of Wellsville’s local legends as a haunted house.
The event takes place on October 20th at Grace United Church located at 289 North Main Street in Wellsville. Lunch will be served at 12:30 and the presentation will take place at 1:00. There is no need for a reservation.
