The heartfelt, crowd-pleasing musical will debut this weekend at the Nancy Howe Auditorium, performed by Wellsville’s Starlight Theatre Company. Based on the popular comic strip by Harold Gray, “Annie” follows plucky orphan Annie as she searches for her parents in 1930s New York City. Audiences will recognize classic characters such as the cruel orphanage director Miss Hannigan, billionaire Oliver Warbucks, Sandy the dog, and more!

Performances run July 10th and 11th at 7 PM and July 12th at 2 PM at the beautiful and historic Nancy Howe Auditorium. Tickets are $15 for General Admission and $10 for Senior Citizens & Students. Tickets can be purchased at the door or ahead-of-time at L’Italia, The Shop at Main, the David A. Howe Library front desk, and online at https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/annie-7.

This production of “Annie” is extra special, as it is a collaboration with Heidi Noel’s Performing Arts Center and features forty-three talented youth performers from its summer theatre program. “Having the kids perform with the adults of Starlight Theatre Company has been a wonderful theatrical education for them, and they bring so much life and energy,” said director Heidi Lawton. She continues, “the whole cast has been singing and dancing for months to make an incredible show for the community, and audiences won’t be disappointed!”

With unforgettable songs, fantastic performances, and a wholesome story about finding where you belong, “‘Annie’ is a guaranteed good time for people of all ages,” said co-producer Bella Wenslow. “So be sure to bring the whole family for a fun night out!” Doors open thirty minutes before show time.
