The Genesee Valley Elementary Student Council hosted the “Mutt Madness” competition in the month of March. Over the past three weeks, the elementary students have been collecting donations for the SPCA.

The contest was split into three rounds, where food, cleaning supplies, and toys or treats were collected. In round 1, all the elementary grade levels collected a total of 1,728 pounds of pet food! Five grade levels continued to round 2. In this round, the elementary helped the competing grades collect around 712 cleaning supply items! Three grade levels advanced to the final round where 686 toys or boxes of treats were collected! At the end of the contest, the winning grade level was 1st grade!

The Elementary Student Council members helped deliver all the items and spent time visiting the animals at the SPCA.

We truly appreciate the generous donations from the families and community.
