The Andover Sports Banquet Center to host 22nd ACAA Sports Hall of Fame on March 28

New banquet location in the restored “Blarney Stone” building on Main Street Andover NY, register by March 16

The Allegany County Athletic Association will host its 22nd annual Sports Hall of Fame banquet at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, March 28, 2026 at the Andover Sports Banquet Center in with ten honorees scheduled to be inducted. 

The Andover Sports Banquet Center is located in 27 Main Street Andover, the old “Blarney Stone”

This year’s inductees are:  Frank Russell (Andover); Steve Bedwell (Belfast); Craig Burdick (Bolivar-Richburg); Sally Kus (Cuba-Rushford); Aaron Martin (Fillmore); Sean Smith (Genesee Valley); Susan Roorbach Hellings (Houghton); Peg Roorbach Shrum (Houghton); Doreen Martin (Scio); and Jaime McLaughlin (Wellsville).

In 2015, previous Hall of Fame inductees and siblings Teresa (Class of ‘07) and Dick (Class of ‘14) Joyce formed an LLC (“Andover Main Street Memories”) with a goal of saving and restoring buildings in their hometown.  So far, they have successfully achieved that goal by renovating several structures.  As part of their plans, they purchased the old Blarney Stone on Main Street with hopes of restoring the building and eventually opening a bar/restaurant on the first floor with a banquet center upstairs.  While the bar/restaurant is not open yet, the banquet facility is off the ground and ready to host its first Allegany County Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony.

This new venue will become the permanent home of the ACAA Sports Hall of Fame, eventually housing exhibits, memorabilia, and photographs related to athletics of Allegany County.

The banquet is open to the public with a reception beginning at 6:00 p.m. followed by the ceremony at 6:30.  Tickets may be purchased by contacting the athletic office at your local school or by contacting Dustin Allen (Bolivar-Richburg Central School) at 585-928-2916 or dallen@bolivarrichburg.org.  You may also contact Courney Malia (Hinsdale Central School) at 607-239-0782 or cmalia@hcsbobcats.org.  No tickets will be sold at the door.

The ticket price for the banquet is $35.00.  Reservations, with payment, must be received by Friday, March 20.

The Allegany County Athletic Association will host its 9th annual Hall of Fame banquet 7 p.m. Saturday, March 26 at the Houghton College Campus Center with 21 people scheduled to be inducted.
This year’s inductees are: Dick Rosintoski (Andover); Rick Slack (Belfast); Brian Jordan (Bolivar-Richburg); Dave Campbell (Canaseraga); Robert Rinker (Cuba-Rushford); Ana Lang (Cuba-Rushford); Gary Babbitt (Fillmore); Paul Hatch (Fillmore); Art Carney (Friendship); Tiffany Amore Pompoe (Friendship); Don Baker (Genesee Valley); Kate Baker (Genesee Valley); Bill Bathurst (Hinsdale); Phil Stockin (Houghton Academy); Gary King (Houghton Academy); Bob Wight (Scio); Julie Cady Reh (Wellsville); Jim Stein (Wellsville); Duane Brubaker (Whitesville); and Rick Pensyl (Whitesville).

The reception for the ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m. on March 26 and for more information, contact the athletic office at your local school.

Reservations, with payment, must be postmarked by Wednesday, March 16.
