OLEAN — The Greater Olean Hospitality Scholarship Committee is proud to announce Mackenzie Weinhauer of Wellsville, NY, as the recipient of the 2025 Greater Olean Hospitality Scholarship.

A senior at Wellsville High School, Mackenzie has demonstrated a passion for hospitality through her academic pursuits, extracurricular involvement, and community service. She is enrolled in the Cattaraugus-Allegany BOCES Culinary Arts program and holds certifications including ServSafe. She is also a member of both the National Honor Society and National Technical Honor Society.

Mackenzie plans to attend Alfred State College this fall to study Baking and Production Management, with the long-term goal of earning her business degree and opening her own bakery.

“Baking has always been a passion of mine ever since I was little,” Mackenzie said. “One of my earliest memories is baking pies and Christmas cookies with my grandma. This scholarship will help me take the next step toward making my dream a reality.”

Outside of the classroom, Mackenzie is involved in Odyssey of the Mind, the yearbook committee, tennis, cheerleading, Skills USA, and serves as manager for the track and field team. She works as a barista at The Shop on Main in Wellsville and volunteers regularly for events such as the CTE Belmont BOCES catering program and the Professional Chefs Game Day Dinner.

The Greater Olean Hospitality Scholarship Fund was established to support area graduating seniors pursuing 2- or 4-year degrees, with preference given to those entering hospitality-related fields. The fund is part of a broader effort by the Greater Olean Hospitality Committee to honor the legacy of the local hospitality industry and invest in its future.

Joe Marra, a committee member, added, “This scholarship reflects our belief that honoring our past and investing in our future go hand in hand. We are thrilled to support Mackenzie and excited to see where her journey takes her.”

The 2nd Annual Hospitality Scholarship Golf Tournament will be held on Sunday, July 13 at Birch Run Golf Course in Allegany. Proceeds support the scholarship fund. For more information or to register, please email sjmarra@gmail.com.
