A First in the Potter-Tioga Dispatch Region
“Sincere appreciation to Wellsville Volunteer Ambulance, Wellsville Rescue, and MTS of Scio, NY”
From Tri-Town Ambulance,
Ulysses, PA — Tri Town Ambulance Association is proud to announce a major advancement in emergency medical services for our region. With the guidance of Jeff Reeser of EMT West, the leadership of our Medical Director, Dr. T. McCardell, and the dedication of all personnel who participated in the additional training, Tri Town Ambulance has become the first BLS agency in the Potter and Tioga Dispatch area to successfully complete—and place into active scope of practice—every optional Pennsylvania BLS protocol available.
This accomplishment results from extensive instruction and collaboration among responders from multiple organizations. Participants included members of Harrison Township Volunteer Fire Department, Genesee Volunteer Fire Department, Tri Town Volunteer Fire Company, and the Tri Town Ambulance Association.
Tri Town Ambulance now has the capability to perform and transmit advanced assessments and life-saving interventions including:
• 12-Lead Electrocardiography (ECG) with transmission to two regional hospitals
• “Check and Inject” Epinephrine
• Carbon Monoxide Co-oximetry
• Glucose Measurement (Glucometer)
• Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP)
• Nebulizer treatments
• Mechanical CPR Device operations
Thanks to support from the Pennsylvania DCED grant and additional grant funding, Tri Town Ambulance recently acquired two Zoll Advanced X Series monitors, equipping each ambulance with state-of-the-art diagnostic and cardiac monitoring technology.
“It has been a priority and a personal goal of mine to ensure our patients receive the highest level of care possible,” said Tim A. Teller, Chief of Tri Town Ambulance Association. “With the ongoing lack of ALS coverage in Potter County, it is essential that BLS providers expand their skills and utilize every optional protocol available so patients receive critical interventions without delay.”
Tri Town Ambulance Association is a 100% volunteer organization, proudly serving the community around the clock. We are always looking for new talent—EMTs, drivers, first responders, or anyone willing to learn and serve. Those interested in joining our team are encouraged to contact us for more information.
Tri Town Ambulance would also like to extend sincere appreciation to Wellsville Volunteer Ambulance, Wellsville Rescue, and MTS of Scio, NY, for their continued partnership and support. We would like to also thank Assistant Chief 47-70 John, and Maria for helping keep things organized and stocked.
