Milk is the most needed item at local food pantries

The Feeding New York State program recently wrapped up a fundraising effort to fill local food pantries with dairy products. Three area grocery stores allowed customers to donate $1 at the registers and it added up to over $2700. The Salvation Army, Catholic Charities, and the Cuba Council of Churches all benefited from the “Fill a Glass with Hope” campaign.
Giant Food Mart, with stores in Wellsville and Cuba NY, lead the way with fundraisers in each store.
Customers gave $355 to Catholic Charities by selling $1 cut out cows during the Fill a Glass with Hope Program in June.

Catholic Charity’s Maryann Newark, Lead cashier Sherri Salter, and store manager Jesse Mckee gathered in the store recently to accept the check.
Also Cuba Giant Market also participated in this program, and
Customer gave $1,303 to Cuba Council of Churches by selling the $1 cut out cows during the Fill A Glass with Hope Program in June. Melissa Spring ,Katie Johnston, Cuba Store Manager Josh Shedrick, Claudia Little are pictured below:

Wellsville Save a Lot raised over a thousand dollars for the Salvation Army in Wellsville. Pantry Coordinator Carol Dodge was thrilled with the support:
I would like to offer a huge thank you to our Wellsville Save a lot, manager Gabriel, staff and all the customers who make this donation possible. Your continued support is much appreciated by the Wellsville Salvation Army. Our pantry served 230 local families last month, which amounted to 520 people. Donations are a vital part of the pantry being able to met our 5 day emergency pantry packing requirements.
Save-A-Lot had donations in the amount of $1,086 dollars in their store. Customers donated $1 for a Cut out cow, the donations went to Fill A Glass with Hope for local food pantries to purchase milk for their clients. Dodge met with store manager Emily Stothart to accept the big check:
