Salamanca venue has a strong Wellsville connection

A good friend of the Wellsville Sun, Isabella Wenslow, sent this bit of information about a great production of classic theatre in Salamanca NY. On the stage will be the “Hunchback of Notre Dame”, for much of the month of August, see the dates below. The stage they will perform on is in the Ray Evans Theatre, named after the famous composer who wrote the holiday classic “Silver Bells,” and many other hits for Hollywood. Ray was born in Salamanca NY.

The Wellsville connection is, as many are, via Better Days on Main Street, Wellsville. Lisa Feinburg-Duckett is the niece of Ray Evans and she ran the popular bar and restaurant for many years. She, her late husband Steve, and son Evan Duckett resided in Wellsville for years after she sold Better Days, ironically to me and my cousin in 2001. Ray Evans knew Wellsville and had an impact on the community via his niece Lisa, who now resides in Salamanca NY. It is a small world, after all.

This exciting and rarely produced production will take the stage in August with production dates including August 5th, 6th, 12th, and 13th at 7:30pm and August 7th and 14th at 2pm. This will be taking place at the Ray Evans Seneca Theater located at 10 Main Street in Salamanca, NY.

This production will be directed by Paul Nelson,

with Andrew Dutko providing Musical Direction,

Eric VanDruff as Conductor,

Linda Manross as Producer,

William Steffen as Costume Designer, and Ryan Wheeler as Technical Director.
