Edward H. JOHNSON, 94, of Belmont, NY, died Saturday, August 8, 2026, in Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester.
Born July 10, 1932, in Galeton, PA, he was the son of Charles Gus and Leila E. Housler Johnson.
On January 28, 1952, in Corry, PA, he married Lila A. Southworth, who predeceased him on January 31, 2022.
A graduate of Galeton Area High School, he was employed Eberle Tannery in Westfield and Air Preheater in Wellsville, retiring in 1994. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Belmont.
Surviving are: three sons, Kevin Johnson of Galeton, David Johnson of Webster, and Kent (Sheri) Johnson of Tavares, FL; a daughter-in-law, Anita Johnson of Wellsville; ten grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a son, Marc Johnson; two granddaughters, Melanie Johnson and Melissa Johnson; four sisters; and a brother.
Friends may call at Olney-Foust & Embser Funeral Homes & Cremation, 17 Schuyler Street, Belmont, NY on Friday, August 14, 2026, from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, with Funeral Services following at 11:00 AM. Mr. Philip Brown will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery, Belmont.
