A county resident tested positive on August 2nd, possibly contracted in Ohio

The Allegany County Department of Health confirmed today that the lone measles case confirmed last week in Allegany County has not spread, and the patient is doing well.
Robert A. Matasich, Supervising Public Health Educator at the ACDOH made this statement today:
“The patient is doing well and recovering. Now new cases have been identified. None of the contacts have developed symptoms.”
Mr. Matasich went on to dispel erroneous reports about the location of the patient and contacts:
To protect patient and resident privacy, the Allegany County Department of Health has not publicly released the location associated with this case. Any reports suggesting that the Department of Health confirmed a specific location are inaccurate. The August 2nd press release did not identify a location related to the case. The town listed in the release reflects the location of the Allegany County Department of Health office and should not be interpreted as the location of the individual involved. We remain committed to safeguarding patient confidentiality while providing the public with appropriate health information.
