The Wellsville Junior League All-Stars (ages 12-14) wrapped up the 2026 summer campaign with a District 2 championship.
Wellsville had 14 players all season and batted all 14 each game.
Eli Sassaman, coming off a 5-1 win on the mound against Fillmore, picked up the win against Portville in a 6-2 win.
Sassaman struck out three and allowed one hit, giving up one run. Cameron Malatesta came in for the save, his second on the night, throwing two innings, striking out five including working out of a bases loaded jam without giving up a run.
Catcher’s Jace HerrNeckar and Parker Harris were able to stop runners from scoring twice on the night.
Claytin Loucks blasted a 3-run home run after singles by Ethan Trimble, Sassaman and AlecZander Torpey and a RBI by HerrNeckar to erase a 1-0 deficit and give Wellsville a 4-1 lead.
Tim Dahlgren and Wyatt Green also had RBI singles while Hunter Carl had two hits and reached base every at bat in two games.
Brayden Mills crushed a ground rule RBI double that bounced over the fence and scored a run. Parker Harris had a RBI single, Bentley Monahan, Landon Kewley (RBI) and Mason Wieszczyk had hits.
