On Sunday January 25th, the Aherns family lost everything but each other. A fire destroyed their home, all contents, and worldly possessions. 10 year old Melody Aherns are in the process of recovering from the loss and let’s not sugarcoat it; they need everything, from a place to live to socks for their feet.
The Wellsville Sun has talked with the family and is happy to announce a way you can help this Saturday January 31st at Cook’s Storage on Route 417 in Wellsville. The family has secured a storage unit for all the items a family needs to get back to daily life. You can stop by Cook’s Storage, Unit 77 from 10am until 2pm.
Do you have a bedframe just taking up space in the garage? Maybe way more silverware than you’d ever need ? Extra coffee pot or kitchen table perhaps? You get the point, from appliances to shoes are needed.
Here are the family clothing/shoe sizes:
Melody: Size 12 slim pants, Size 10 shirts, Size 3 shoes/boots
Richard: 29W, 32L pants, Medium mens shirts, Size 9.5 shoes/boots
Tracy: Size 11-12 pants, Large women’s shirts, Size 8 shoes/boots
Gift cards, non-perishable food items/hygiene items, young girls toys/stuffies

The Aherns family appreciates any support and kindness to help recover from this disaster. Let’s get Melody and her folks back on their feet and moving forward!
Family members have established a GoFundMe campaign for those who would like to donate online.
For those who would rather not donate online and can’t make the event this Saturday, please contact the Wellsville Sun and we will help coordinate with the family. WellsvilleSun@yahoo.com
