Students can win $500 for community engagement!
From ACDC,
The Allegany County Democratic Committee will host a Paint and Sip event in Angelica on Saturday, February 21, 2026 to raise funds for its second annual Student Civic Engagement Award. This $500.00 cash award recognizes students in grades 11 and 12 residing or attending school in Allegany County for their civic engagement in the community. It is a monetary award unrelated to academic performance and does not have to be used toward secondary education.
All Allegany County schools have the application materials now, so please point your civic-minded young person to the guidance office. Submission deadline is April 1, 2026.
The event begins at 1:00 p.m. Tickets are $45 per person and include all materials and instructions to paint and letter a 30” tall sign expressing pro-social, pro-community sentiments. Also included are a small charcuterie offering and a flute of sparkling wine.
Enjoy an afternoon of art and eats while supporting young people in your county. Tickets are available here https://secure.actblue.com/donate/teacup or by contacting info@acdcny.org.
