ALFRED, NY, January 16, 2026 – Alfred State Senior Grace Hildreth (Hornell, NY/Alfred Almond) has been named the recipient of the Inaugural Alfred State Sport Management Internship Scholarship. Hildreth will start her internship with the Carolina Courage in late January.

Established in 2024 with guidance from program alumni Morgan Antonazzo, ’21 and Joanne Delemo, ’20, the scholarship provides financial assistance to students facing out‑of‑pocket internship expenses, including travel, housing, meals, and professional attire. The scholarship was set up to ensure all students can pursue meaningful, career-building internship opportunities without financial barriers.

“I am extremely grateful to have been chosen to receive this scholarship,” Hildreth stated. “The support makes it possible for me to fully immerse myself in my internship by helping cover the cost of travel, professional attire, and other necessities. With this assistance, I can focus on gaining valuable experience and growing professionally.”

“It’s really special to be able to give back to a program that provided me with such a strong professional foundation,” Antonazzo said. “It makes me so happy to see the continued growth and success of the Sport Management Program and am proud to support its ongoing success. It is my hope that this scholarship will continue to meaningfully serve Sport Management students for many years to come. Best of luck to Grace!”

Hildreth was selected by a committee of alumni and faculty based on her outstanding academic performance, the strength of her internship placement, and her deep involvement in extracurricular activities within the Sport Management program.

Beginning in late January, Hildreth will join the Carolina Courage of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), where she will support the club’s Operations Manager. Her previous experience includes roles with the Buffalo Bills, the Tri-County YMCA of New York, and the Alfred-Almond girls soccer team. On campus, she served as Communications Director for the Alfred State Sport Business Club. A high-achieving student, Hildreth was named the 2024 Sport Management Most Outstanding Student for the associate program and has earned Dean’s List honors every semester.

“I can think of no one more deserving than Grace for this award,” said Brandon Harrison, Associate Professor of Sport Management. “I’ll never forget – on the first day of Intro to Sport Management, Grace shared that her dream was to work in the NWSL. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing our students’ dreams become reality, and this is partially due to this award.”
