Read the interview with this Harry Potter loving nurse who dreams of teleporting
From Jones Memorial Hospital,
This week, our associate spotlight shines on Emily Klein, BSN RN, Labor & Delivery. Originally from Pulaski, NY, Emily has been with the Jones for the past 2.5 years.
“Emily’s kindness and compassion shines through in all she does. She goes above and beyond to ensure every patient has the best birth experience. Emily is dedicated to being the best she can be every shift. Thank you Emily for being such an amazing nurse and a huge asset to our OB family.” – Amanda Green, Director of Maternity
What is your favorite part of working at Jones Memorial?
Emily: My favorite thing about working at Jones is working alongside caring, hardworking, and intelligent coworkers to be part of women and their families best, and sometimes most difficult times, of labor and delivery. Every patient I have makes an impact on me and I know in our rural area we provide great care.
What inspired you to pursue working in healthcare? What are you most proud of?
Emily: I wanted to become a nurse because I knew I was meant to make a difference, support and educate, and be there for my community. I am most proud of going to college, becoming a nurse, and starting my career. I am proud of how much I have grown not only as a nurse but as a person.
Do you have a favorite song, playlist or podcast to get you through your day? What is it?
Emily: 90’s-00’s hip-hop/rap, Post Malone, and some current country & pop!
What is your favorite hobby?
Emily: Reading, spending time with family, watching football, and even more reading!
What’s a book, movie or TV show you would recommend to everyone?
Emily: I would recommend Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas. I recommend watching the Harry Potter movies as well. I might be slightly obsessed and cannot count how many times I’ve rewatched them all!
What’s your dream vacation destination?
Emily: Travel across Europe, eating good food and learning about history, art, and culture.
If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why?
Emily: Teleportation. How cool would it be to teleport and be on a beach then the next getting ready for your shift! I have also said at work I would like to be Mrs. Incredible/Elastigirl so I can stay at the bedside and still grab things around the room!
