Alfred State supporters gathered to celebrate the official launch of the college’s Unleashing Potential campaign

The success of Alfred State has been fueled by the generosity of so many. Alumni, community partners, and friends aid the college’s mission of delivering hands-on learning that prepares in-demand and involved students.
The launch of the college’s public phase of the largest comprehensive campaign in school history highlighted 2025. The Unleashing Potential campaign strives to raise $40 million to support current and future Pioneers. The college celebrated raising $32 million at the launch event and then celebrated a $1 million gift from Bill, ’84, and Rhoda Goodrich that has helped the college near 88% of the overall goal ($35.2 million).
Grants and scholarships have aided in raising support.
- Funding from the National Science Foundation through an Advanced Technological Education grant will help Alfred State develop a robotic and automation technician pathway for the agricultural and industrial sectors.
- Alumnus Jason Van Zeilen, ’92, and his employer Hamilton Stern Construction created a scholarship to help the next generation of students build their future.
- A connection to the Wellsville community and a desire to give back, fuel Tom and Dottie Kelsey and the Kelsey Naylor Family Foundation to assist students in the School of Applied Technology through a Tool Fund.
Annual events brought friends of the college together to raise funds and to learn what is happening around campus.
- The alumni reunion in June highlighted the impact of Gary Hill, ’77, James Smith, ’77, and Christine Reynolds, ’07 and ’15, to the college, their organizations, and their communities.
- The Pioneer Drive for the Development fund raised more the $25,000 while the Class of 1978 and the Buffalo Alumni Chapter hosted another successful Alfred Open at Springville Country Club.
- Over 800 donors came together to make the annual Day of Giving a major success. $344,025 was raised in a single day to support the college.
Excitement and anticipation are high as Alfred State enters 2026.
