The Christmas season is officially underway in Wellsville as the community gears up for its annual Hometown Holidays Residential Decorating Contest, inviting residents throughout the area to help light up the town with festive cheer.
The contest, open exclusively to residential properties, encourages homeowners to decorate their houses and yards in creative holiday displays. Organizers say the goal is simple: bring neighbors together, spread Christmas spirit, and make Wellsville shine throughout the month of December.
The Wellsville Development Corporation is hosting a separate window-decorating contest for local businesses, while the residential competition is being coordinated through the Wellsville Area Chamber of Commerce.
How to Enter
Residents must submit their entries to the Chamber no later than December 4. Contact the WACoC on Facebook or call (585) 593-5080 Judging will take place December 12–17, with three winners selected.
Prizes
Each winner will receive Wellsville Area Chamber of Commerce Gift Certificates, redeemable at more than 50 local member businesses—a prize designed to support and promote shopping local this holiday season.
Winner Announcements
Winners will be contacted by December 19, and the top-decorated homes will be featured on the Chamber’s Facebook page and official website.
Organizers are encouraging all Wellsville-area residents to participate, noting that the contest is not only a festive tradition but also a way to bring the community together during one of the most celebrated times of the year.
