Bath, NY – The Steuben County 4-H Program, part of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Steuben County, hosted its annual 4-H Achievement Night to recognize the accomplishments and growth of local youth members. The celebration, held at Friends of Howard Community Building on October 18, 2025, brought together 4-H members, families, volunteers, and community supporters for an evening of recognition, gratitude, and celebration.
Achievement Night marks the culmination of a year filled with learning, leadership, and community service. This special event honored 4-H members for their accomplishments in a wide variety of project areas, including animal science, STEM, creative arts, agriculture, and civic engagement. Youth were recognized for their record-keeping, participation at the Steuben County 4-H Summer Showcase, and leadership in club, county, regional, state and national activities.
“Steuben County 4-H youth truly embody the 4-H pledge — with their heads, hearts, hands, hearts, and health making a difference,” said Jenny Groen, 4-H Youth Development Team Leader for Cornell Cooperative Extension of Steuben County. “Achievement Night allows us to celebrate not just their success, but the skills and confidence they gain through hands-on learning.”

Special recognition was given to Cloverbud Graduates, Best Records authors, youth who excelled “Behind the Scenes”, High Point Horse Award recipients, youth who represented Steuben County 4-H at the New York State Fair, Leadership Award recipients and the Outstanding 4-Her for 2024-2025 program year. The evening also featured recognition for our “Friends of 4-H” awards which recognize a community business and an individual supporter who have excelled in their dedication to the 4-H Program. This year’s recipients were Business – Country Crossroads Feed & Seed, LLC; Individual – Jackie Knoll.
Achievement Night serves as both a celebration of accomplishments and a reflection of the 4-H program’s mission — empowering youth with lifelong skills in leadership, responsibility, and citizenship.
The Steuben County 4-H Program offers a variety of clubs and activities for youth ages 5–18 across the county, helping them explore interests in agriculture, science, healthy living, and community engagement.
