From Allegany County Chairman W. Brooke Harris
I noticed on social media that there has been significant interest in the proposed Local Law authorizing the County to override the 2% tax cap. For your readers’ information, the date for a Public Hearing related to that Local Law was established by resolution at our last regular Board Meeting.
The Public Hearing will be held on November 12, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. In the County Legislative Chambers at 7 Court Street in Belmont. The hearing will also be livestreamed on the County’s YouTube page.
The official notice can be found below or online here, and resolution attached. Any questions feel free to reach out.
