This week, our spotlight shines on Marcie Bell, Registration Clerk in the Admissions Department for the past year.

What is your favorite part of working at Jones Memorial?
Bell: My favorite part about working at Jones Memorial are my co-workers, I work with a great team who’ve become a second family to me. We’re there for each other whether its work related or personal. I also like the people that come to Jones Memorial, they bring a different aspect to each day I work.

What inspired you to pursue working in healthcare? What are you most proud of?
Bell: I was inspired to work in healthcare by family and friends. I’m most proud to have graduated from an airline academy, even though I don’t have a career in that field it helped put me on a journey that ended with me working in the healthcare industry that started out as a pharmacy tech.

What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
Bell: Be fearlessly authentic in everything you do.

Do you have a favorite song, playlist or podcast to get you through your day? What is it?
Bell: I don’t really have a favorite song, but I listen to a lot of different music on Sirius XM and pandora, which range from classic rock, 80s & 90s to todays hits, It just depends on my mood. As far as podcasts go, I like anything thats true crime related I also like “2 bears 1 cave” and “Bertcast.”

What is your favorite hobby?
Bell: My favorite hobby is reading. Some of my favorite authors include J.A. Owenby, Penelope Douglas, Nicole Fox, and Freida McFadden.

What’s a book, movie or TV show you would recommend to everyone?
Bell: I can’t think of a book to recommend since I like a few different kinds. For tv shows I would recommend Only Murders in the Building, The Resident, and Law & Order SVU

What’s your dream vacation destination?
Bell: Turks and Caicos

If you could meet one famous person, alive or dead, who would it be and why?
Bell: It’s so hard to pick just one person, it would either be someone from the food network or a comedian.

If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why?
Bell: My superpower would be to fly, so I could travel anywhere I want to
