Cuba-Rushford announces the Class of 2025 top students

Lavery named Valedictorian, Larabee is Salutatorian

Valedictorian Brynn Lavery

Brynn Lavery, daughter of Darby and Stefanie Lavery, has been announced as the Cuba-Rushford class of 2025 Valedictorian, with a cumulative weighted grade point average of 101.64.

During her Senior year of high school, Brynn has been in the New Vision Health Professions program, which is a one-year senior level Career and Technical program that is rigorous in its standards and academics. Brynn’s accomplishments include National Honor Society, High Honor Roll throughout her entire high school career, MVP Award for Basketball, and holds the position of student representative on the School Board of Education. Brynn has been the Class President for the Class of 2025 since her freshman year, has held various roles in Student Council, participated in Scholastic Challenge, Youth Court, and is currently the President of the NHS.

Throughout her Sophomore, Junior, and Senior year, Brynn has challenged herself with Dual Enrollment courses through Jamestown Community College, Alfred State College, and SUNY Albany in various subject areas. She will be graduating with a certificate in Healthcare Studies from Jamestown Community College. In addition to managing her extracurricular involvement and rigorous academics, Brynn is a three-sport Varsity athlete playing Soccer, Basketball, and Track. She’s received various athletic recognitions, including Allegany County All-Star for Soccer, Track, and Basketball; Sportsmanship Award for Track; Big 30 All-Star for Basketball; and was chosen to play in the Greater Rochester Ronald McDonald All-Star Basketball Game.

Brynn was selected to attend the HOBY Leadership Conference during her sophomore year to represent Cuba-Rushford. Brynn is a leader in her class as well as her community.

Brynn has frequently volunteered for school events, such as Dr. Seuss Night, School-o-ween, Fall Fest, and the United Way Pizza dinner sponsored by NHS and Student Council. Brynn has also volunteered in the community with Little League, the Garlic Festival, and the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.

In the Fall of 2025, Brynn will be attending Northeast College of Health Sciences majoring in Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Congratulations Brynn on your accomplishments!

Salutatorian Cloey Larabee

Cloey Larabee, daughter of Benajmin and Tiffany Larabee, has been announced as the Cuba-Rushford Class of 2025 Salutatorian with a cumulative weighted grade point average of 100.95.

During her Senior year, Cloey devoted much of her free time to the Robotics program, gaining recognition and awards in her design landing her a chance to compete in Texas. Cloey’s accomplishments include National Honor Society, High Honor Roll throughout her entire high school career, Highest average in many of her classes during her Sophomore and Junior school years. Cloey has been involved in Student Council holding various roles, an officer for the Class of 2025, participated in French Club, Youth Court, Yearbook Club and Scholastic Challenge.

Throughout her Sophomore, Junior, and Senior year, Cloey has challenged herself with Dual Enrollment courses through Jamestown Community College, Alfred State College, and SUNY Albany. Cloey has also taken advantage of both the EARN and Pre-College Enrollment programs at Jamestown Community College to take additional courses. She also took courses outside of school and will be earning an associate’s degree by the end of summer. In addition to her academic achievements, Cloey has been a three-sport athlete in Varsity Soccer, Varsity Basketball, Varsity Softball, and most recently Varsity Track. Cloey has broken two school records for soccer, was team captain for two years, and on the All-Tournament Team for two years. In 2022-2023, Cloey was the Cuba-Rushford Soccer MVP, has been recognized as an Allegany County All Star, and Big 30 All-Star. In addition, during the 2024-2025 season, she was an Allegany County All Star, Big 30 All Star, Section V All-Tournament Team, and received the Fall Scholar Athlete Award.

Cloey was selected to attend the HOBY Youth Leadership Conference at the end of her sophomore year to represent Cuba-Rushford.

Cloey has been involved with various community service activities and volunteer opportunities, including, Dr. Seuss Night, the United Way Pizza Dinner, School-o-ween, STEAM Night, and Fall Fest. She has also volunteered at Garlic Festival, the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, and the Blood Drives hosted by Student Council.

In the Fall of 2025, Cloey will be attending the State University of New York at Geneseo majoring in adolescent mathematic education. Congratulations Cloey on your accomplishments!
